We proudly present to you our GFF Cabana Boys, Class of 2011/2012. These contemporary gentlemen bravely stepped forward to support the mission of The Girlfriend Factor at our fourth annual Evening at Club Cabana. Michael Mathews proudly received the most votes to earn the illustrious title of The Big Kahuna.

Michael A. Mathews – Big Kahuna 2011/2012
Michael Mathews is President and co-founder of MATHEWS/SEGOVIA. With unparalleled access to high-level decision makers and leaders, Mr. Mathews brings to his clients over two decades of experience in the fields of sponsorship sales, client account management, public relations, advertising, sales promotion, strategic planning and retail merchandising. Mr. Mathews has established marketing communications partnerships for clients with major events such as, MARIACHI USA at the Hollywood Bowl, Avery Dennison Achievement Awards, Grand Re-Opening of the Geffen Playhouse, the First Latin Grammy Awards Red Carpet Gala, and STRIKE OUT AIDS at Dodger Stadium. Mr. Mathews is also the Marketing Director for Palm Springs Life.

Prior to founding MATHEWS/SEGOVIA, Mr. Mathews worked as a consultant in marketing and sponsorship sales. Mr. Mathews was Vice President at Greenhouse Marketing Group. While the Director of Advertising Executives for Macy's West, Mr. Mathews supervised the development and execution of a $300 million advertising budget, marketing strategies and follow-up on all advertising projects. Mr. Mathews was Founder and President of CoCo Advertising Agency located in Houston , Texas. At present, Mr. Mathews is on the Board of Directors of The Wall Las Memorias, an AIDS non-profit organization that established the first publicly funded permanent AIDS memorial.

Jerry Dunn - The Big Kahuna, Class of 2009
Jerry was born on April 1 and this set the pattern for the rest of his life. He squandered most of his childhood and virtually all of his adult life. This includes eeking out a degree at UCLA, a tour of duty in the U.S. Army and a career at Xerox Corporation. Jerry assists his wife, Donna, in her business, Donna Dunn & Associates, an interior design firm.

Jerry wanted to become a Cabana Boy because he owns a 1933 Ford Woodie, loves the beach and was told he'd be around a lot of girls.

Larry Goodwin
Larry is the Founder and President of Health Insurance Network, a general insurance agency that has been servicing the Coachella Valley since 1988. Not only does his agency offer medical, life and long-term care insurance, they recently expanded to offer auto and homeowners insurance as well. As a past president of Palm Desert Rotary Club he remains heavily involved in giving back to our community. But his main priority for the last several years has been listening to his wife Joan as she established and now leads The Girlfriend Factor. According to Joan the man is an absolute saint.

Steve Love

Richard Shalhoub
Mr. Richard Shalhoub serves as President of Shalhoub Management Co., Inc. Mr. Shalhoub is the Owner and Operator of 19 McDonald's restaurants, a business he started in 1984. He is directly responsible for all phases of McDonald's restaurant's operations including training, administration, marketing, finance, and project development. He is General Managing Partner of The Dickson Company. He has been a Director of Canyon Bancorp., since 1998. He served as a Director of Canyon National Bank Inc. He was President of Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce and Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce. He served as the Chairman of the Mt. San Jacinto Winter Park Authority. He actively supports a number of professional and civic organizations. He served as the Vice Chairman and Director of Agua Caliente Development Authority. He was a Member of the Board of Trustees for the Palm Springs Art Museum. Mr. Shalhoub graduated from the University of Southern California with degrees in Finance and Management and graduated from the Thunderbird School of International Management in Arizona.

Tim Snyder
Service defines much of the professional and personal life of Cabana Boy Tim Snyder. Tim has amassed an impressive career in the food services industry. Having enjoyed many years with the national steak house conglomerate Ruth's Chris, he became involved with the Girlfriend Factor while serving as General Manager of Ruth's Chris Palm Desert location. Tim immediately understood and embraced the philosophy behind the Girlfriend Factor, associating it with the philosophy upon which Ruth's Chris was founded. Without hesitation, he has made Ruth's Chris available to the Girlfriend Factor for many events, often with food and beverage specials that enticed prospective members and rewarded returning supporters The Go Girl Luncheon has been held each year at Ruth's Chris. Tim is married to his wife Stephanie, and they have four children.

John Wong
John Wong is the Chief Compliance Officer and Operations Coordinator at Integrated Wealth Management. He conducts risk assessments, executes the annual compliance auditing program, provides guidance to the firm on compliance matters, monitors the firm’s compliance with its Code of Ethics, and stays abreast of regulations and federal securities laws. Prior to joining Integrated Wealth Management, he spent 19 years at Capital Group. He received a BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and is a Certified Internal Auditor.

Perry Zeigler
Perry Zeigler has been a Wealth Management Advisor with Merrill Lynch since 1993. Zeigler specializes in asset management for individuals, private foundations and corporate cash management. Active the Palm Desert community, Perry Zeigler has been an ardent supporter of the Girlfriend Factor. He has generously offered his expertise to members in need of financial management. Perry Zeigler and his wife Libby have two children, Nikolas and Madison.

Additionally, Perry is one of the Fabulously Original Charter Cabana Boys.
