Go Girl! Grant
The Girlfriend Factor believes, and research has shown, that education is the key to economic advancement and self-sufficiency among women. Our goal is to ensure that higher education and occupational training are financially accessible to all adult women who choose to improve their position in life.
Unfortunately, education has become increasingly expensive to obtain. On top of that, the traditional financial aid route is so overwhelmingly mired with red tape, rules and regulations that potential students often give up trying to obtain assistance out of shear frustration and exhaustion. Try asking for a simple scholarship application form from a community college and you will quickly realize the problems these students face.
Additionally, adult students who are working, and actually own their own homes or other assets of moderate value, are penalized for having reached this position in their lives. Instead of scholarships, they are often forced to take out expensive student loans which will encumber them for years to come.
The Girlfriend Factor intends to take a different road. We believe that women should have the opportunity to receive an education without being straddled with red tape and long term financial debt. Our Go Girl! Grants are designed specifically for each recipient and will follow that recipient through her entire educational program. All we ask in return is that she follow our lead in being a Girlfriend to others as she becomes more successful in life.
